BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - Terry Mayor Roderick Nicholson has resigned after pleading guilty to five counts of embezzlement.

The attorney general’s office says in a news release that Nicholson entered the plea Monday before Rankin County Circuit Judge William E. Chapman III.

Nicholson is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 7 and faces a maximum of 100 years in prison - 20 years for each count.

He was arrested March 30 on embezzlement charges tied to accusations that he used a city credit card to pay for $2,700 in repairs to two personal vehicles.

Nicholson is accused of having work done on five occasions at dealerships in Brandon and Flowood.
