Media outlets in Orlando report that the large fowl appeared Friday and spent the day pacing outside St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, gazing into its dark glass doors. Church spokeswoman Dawn Fleming says it seemed that the bird, now known as the St. Luke’s Turkey, really wanted to get in.

A Polk County judge sentenced 48-year-old Tanya Senay Demirhan on Monday. She pleaded guilty in September to solicitation to commit murder and unlawful use of a communication device.

FORMER FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE PRESIDENT CHARGED WITH STEALING $56,000 FROM POLICE UNION

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began investigating Jeffery McAdams last year at the request of Gainesville police officials. The FDLE found that McAdams double-billed for thousands in travel expenses and made unapproved purchases on the union’s debit card from 2011 to April 2014.

WILDLIFE OFFICIALS TRAP ORPHANED FLORIDA PANTHER KITTEN NEAR NAPLES

In a news release issued Tuesday the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the kitten was rescued earlier in November. When wildlife officers responded to the crash scene, they didn’t see any kittens. But an employee at the nearby Collier-Seminole State Park photographed a female panther with three kittens in early October.

SOUTH FLORIDA WAREHOUSE WORKER IMPALED BY POOL CUE AFTER FALLING FROM LADDER

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sandra King says the Precision Metal Industries worker was in critical condition when he was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning. She says the cue struck the man in the chest near his arm pit and went through to his back.
