CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - An investigation into a series of fires near Charleston has led to the arrests of a father and son.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Ricky Dale Igo and 26-year-old Daniel Wayne Igo, both of Charleston, were arraigned on arson charges Tuesday in Magistrate Court. They were taken to South Central Regional Jail in lieu of bond. The jail had no information about whether the defendants have retained attorneys.

Local and state firefighters have been dispatched to the area near Campbell’s Creek several times this month. One fire destroyed a stolen vehicle. Another damaged an estimated 150 acres of woodland.

The sheriff’s office says surveillance video showed the Igos in the area immediately before another fire was discovered Monday.

The investigations into the other fires are continuing.
