ELLISVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Jones County Junior College baseball coach Christian Ostrander has resigned to take a job at Louisiana Tech.

Ostrander was named the pitching coach at Louisiana Tech on Monday afternoon. He will begin his new job next month.

JCJC school officials hope to have a replacement named at the December Board of Trustees meeting.

Ostrander enjoyed success at JCJC, compiling a 255-109 record in seven seasons.

He led JCJC to a second place finish in the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2011 in Enid, Oklahoma. He guided the Bobcats to MACJC state championships in 2011 and 2014 and a Region 23 crown in 2011.

Ostrander is a native of Monroe, Louisiana.
