MILWAUKEE (AP) - Authorities have identified a 14-year-old boy who died in a crash involving a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old boy in Milwaukee.

The victim was identified Monday as Daquan A. Nichols. He died Saturday at a hospital after suffering serious injuries when the vehicle he was riding in struck a tree.

The driver and two other 14-year-old passengers suffered injuries that weren’t considered to be life-threatening. Police plan to present a case against the 15-year-old driver to the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1QFpKh3 ) reports that it was the city’s second fatal crash involving underage drivers and teenage victims within the past two weeks.

Milwaukee police say they have investigated 60 crash-related deaths so far this year. They investigated 49 crash-related deaths last year.
