NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (AP) - An 18-year-old New York City man has been charged in connection to two sexual abuse incidents, one that occurred at a state university.

SUNY-New Paltz police said Monday in a campus alert that Brian Sanchez of the Bronx was charged with felony first-degree sexual abuse in connection to an incident that occurred on campus earlier in November.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports (https://pojonews.co/1PWXYuG ) that University police said Sanchez also was charged by Town of New Paltz police with first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sexual act, and unlawful imprisonment in connection to an incident that occurred in the village, also in November.

Sanchez, who is not a SUNY-New Paltz student, is being held at Ulster County Jail on $50,000 bail.

It couldn’t immediately be determined if he has an attorney.
