AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Police say they have charged a 25-year-old New York man with murder as part of their investigation of the death of a man found inside an Augusta apartment.

State and Augusta police are still investigating the death of the man, who they have not identified. They are treating the death as a homicide. Police have arrested Damik Davis, who is being held at Kennebec County Jail.

Augusta police responded to the apartment for a disturbance call at 8 p.m. on Monday. Davis was taken into custody after a search. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.

Police say they are also looking for two occupants of the apartment for questioning and a well-being check.

Police say an autopsy is scheduled at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
