SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say they’ve confirmed that human remains found on a remote peak near Ogden belong to Joshua Easley, a St. George man who disappeared over a year ago.

Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Lane Findlay said Tuesday that dental records confirmed that the decomposing body found by a hiker is the 26-year-old Easley.

He disappeared in April 2014. His car was found at a trailhead in North Ogden.

His remains were found Saturday in an isolated, rocky area on Ben Lomond Peak. Some clothing and personal items were found with the body, including Easley’s wallet and identification.

Police are investigating how he died.
