TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - University of Alabama police are investigating after a man, who a witness says was trying to sell a cellphone, was found shot and robbed.

In an alert, university police say a witness contacted them Monday night, saying he found the 24-year-old victim with gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen at the Park at Manderson Landing on Jack Warner Parkway.

According to Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Capt. Gary Hood, the witness says the victim was supposed to be meeting someone to sell a cellphone. The witness pulled up at the location and found the wounded man.

Hood says the victim, who’s expected to survive, isn’t a University of Alabama student.

Authorities say the suspects were last seen traveling on Jack Warner Parkway in a gold, two-door, older model vehicle.
