BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Agents with the state Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control cited 14 adult entertainment venues during a statewide undercover investigation dubbed by the agency “Operation Trick or Treat.”

The agency said in a news release the strip clubs were issued citations for prostitution, lewd acts, and drug activity.

Six of the businesses were issued emergency suspensions due to the threat to public safety. The following strip clubs were ordered to stop selling alcohol and/or tobacco products immediately:

-Shelly’s, Houma

-Temptations, Sulphur

-Club Vixen, Lake Charles

-Club Cabaret, West Lake

-Judy’s Lounge, Morgan City

-Temptations, Morgan City

“ATC has two words for strip clubs across the state; straighten up,” said ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert. “It’s simple. If you allow drugs and prostitution, your alcohol permit will be in jeopardy.”

The statewide operation comes only weeks after nine clubs were cited in the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Three clubs in the Baton Rouge area were each cited for one count of prostitution: Real Entertainers, Crazy Horse Cabaret, and Tipsy Tiger 2, according to the agency.

Other clubs citied include Oasis Cabaret in Bossier City, Michael’s in Broussard, The Onyx Lounge in Monroe, Sports Club in Alexandria and Double Deez in Morgan City,
