RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A 7-year-old boy has been shot and wounded at a home in Raleigh.

Wake County sheriff’s spokesman Richard Johnson said in a statement that deputies were called shortly after 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The boy was taken to a Raleigh hospital in a private vehicle. He was later transferred to Duke Hospital in Durham. Sheriff Donnie Harrison told local media the injuries appeared to be serious. His name has not been released.

Deputies said there were three other children in the home, ranging in age from 7 months to 10 years. The boy’s 41-year-old mother was in the house with two other people. No other injuries were reported.

No charges have been filed.
