CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A former Cedar Rapids man faces child porn charges after images were found on his computer during a search of his home.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1Hme93z ) 34-year-old Robert Thompson Turner has been charged with receipt and possession of child pornography.

The charges stem from a Cedar Falls police investigation when Turner was a University of Northern Iowa student and living on campus.

Authorities allege Turner received photos of minors engaged in sexual activity from August 2001 to August 2013. Court records say images on two computer hard drives and a flash drive were found during a search of his home.

Turner was arrested by federal marshals and made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids on Monday.

Trial is tentatively scheduled for January.
