LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A Little Rock man who called police and confessed to killing his girlfriend has been charged in her death.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1SjqmGW ) that 37-year old Derrick Mason faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of 34-year-old Jessica Berliew.

Police say that Mason told investigators that he killed Berliew after they argued when she got home from work. Police found Berliew’s body after Mason directed them to a Little Rock residence.

Mason was held in the Pulaski County jail without bail Tuesday night.

Police spokesman Richard Hilgeman says the homicide is the 25th so far this year in Little Rock.
