IRWINDALE, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man found in a car stopped in the middle of a street in Irwindale.

Local police responding to a person-down call at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday spotted the man with a gunshot wound inside a compact car.

County firefighters pronounced the victim dead at the scene on Foothill Boulevard.

A Sheriff’s Department statement says the name of the victim is not being released pending notification of relatives.

The department says the investigation is continuing and there’s no information on a suspect.
