IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A 32-year-old man has been formally arrested on suspicion of multiple assaults earlier this month at the University of Iowa.

UI Police say Adam Weinstein, of Iowa City, was arrested Wednesday following his release from University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. He had been involuntarily committed.

Weinstein has been charged with one count of third-degree sexual abuse, four counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and three counts of third-degree harassment. Authorities say Weinstein is suspected of a series of physical and verbal attacks on campus on Nov. 10. The incidents prompted a series of emergency alerts to UI students, faculty and staff.

No attorneys are yet listed for Weinstein in court filings.
