FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Hope Mills man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his mother nearly four years ago.

Multiple media outlets reported that 32-year-old Robert Terry Ellison was convicted of first degree murder in Fayetteville.

Judge Jim Ammons said Ellison will not be eligible for parole.

Ellison was charged with killing 50-year-old Edwardyne Williams, whose body was found in some woods Dec. 11, 2011.

Family members had reported Williams missing several days earlier. Her vehicle and cellphone were found abandoned about a week before her body was found.
