BALDWIN, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 21-year-old man set a Mercedes-Benz ablaze and threw a firebomb through an upstairs window of his ex-girlfriend’s house - a week after he tried unsuccessfully to set the Long Island home on fire.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/1N7v0mK ) Joseph Ferrufino was arrested Tuesday about a half-mile from the fires he set at the Baldwin home. He’s charged with first- and third-degree arson and is set to be arraigned Wednesday.

Authorities say four people were in the home at the time but no one was injured.

Police say Ferrufino tried to set the same house on fire last week by throwing a firebomb through a window. But the window didn’t break and the firebomb didn’t ignite.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
