SANFORD, Maine (AP) - Police in Sanford are looking for man who tried to rob a Super 8 Motel, then ran away when the clerk refused to cooperate.

Police said the man entered the motel at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, demanded money from the clerk and showed a knife. The clerk locked herself in a backroom and called 911.

The man was described as wearing a horizontal stripe dark blue and gray hoodie, which he held closed around his face during the robbery attempt.
