ARCADIA, Wis. (AP) - Voters in Arcadia have recalled a mayor who had been in charge of the western Wisconsin city for nearly a decade.

Eau Claire TV station WEAU reports (https://bit.ly/1kTlHRn ) that the special election Tuesday came after complaints that John Kimmel put limits on public input when it opposed his positions.

Kimmel has called the recall effort a fraud and says it put together by people with a personal grudge against him.

Challenger Rob Reichwein received nearly 70 percent of the vote and now has 10 days to take office.

Kimmel began his tenure in 2006.
