LEEDS, Ala. (AP) - A woman who police say they suspect in a killing has been extradited to Alabama to face a murder charge.

Media outlets report 31-year-old Candie Zito was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Nov. 12. Authorities charged Zito with murder on Oct. 22 in the death of Anthony Shane Gibson.

Zito and her cousin, Cory Zito, fled Alabama in July. They went to her grandmother’s house in Montgomery, Indiana, but fled after the grandmother called police. Authorities chased the suspects through two counties. The chase ended with the Zitos crashing into some trees.

Gibson was last seen alive on July 2. He told family members he was going to a nearby store. His body was found burned beyond recognition three days later in a wooded area in Jefferson County.
