BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - The holiday shopping season is here and that means the Bossier City Police Department will once again activate its Armed Robbery Task Force.

Officers will patrol Bossier City businesses and busy shopping centers to provide an increased law enforcement presence and to keep criminals guessing whether a business they’re considering to target will have officers nearby.

The task force has been in place each year since 1987.

Overtime expenses to fund the task force are covered by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice.
