AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - A New York man accused of killing another man in an Augusta, Maine, apartment has been ordered held without bail.

The Kennebec Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1OiiR3D ) that Damik Davis of Queens made an initial court appearance Wednesday, where he was charged with murder. He is accused of killing 31-year-old Joseph Marceau of Augusta in an apartment neither of them called home.

Authorities said the couple renting the apartment was located Wednesday staying with friends. They were taken to the police department and later released.

Davis, who faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted, has asked for a court-appointed lawyer.
