LANCASTER, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been shot to death while riding in a car in Lancaster.

Lancaster County deputies said in a news release that officers responding to a call about shots being fired found a Chevrolet Malibu stopped in the road around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say a man was dead inside. His name has not been released.

Deputies say about 30 minutes later, 28-year-old Danielle Peay was arrested at his home not far from the shooting and was charged with murder. Authorities say he is their only suspect. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.

Investigators didn’t release a motive for the shooting.
