BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (AP) - A police officer has helped revive a 10-year-old boy who was found unresponsive at a school playground on Long Island.

Authorities say officers called to Laurel Park Elementary School in Brentwood found the boy unresponsive around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. Officer John McAuley arrived minutes later and determined the boy had no pulse and was not breathing. McAuley is a member of the Suffolk County Police Department Medical Crisis Action Team.

A school nurse began chest compressions while McAuley began operating a resuscitating device. They performed CPR for about two minutes and the boy regained consciousness. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
