SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls-based Raven Industries has once again designed and manufactured some new balloons for this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Argus Leader reports (https://argusne.ws/1kVdkol ) that Raven’s Aerostar division has produced more than 90 large balloons for the parade, including every large character balloon except one since the Macy’s relationship started.

New this year are: an updated Ronald McDonald; Sinclair Oil’s Dino, Scrat and his acorn from the animated “Ice Age” movie and Arttle the Pirate, a remake of a character who has been part of the parade since 1947.

Raven Aerostar division vice president and general manager says the larger-than-life characters take hundreds and hundreds of hours to design and build.

Several Raven employees are in New York to watch the company’s creations parade through the city.
