PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Students in schools throughout Rhode Island will be featured in a series of concerts at the Statehouse during the holiday season.

The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts announced that the concerts begin Monday with a morning performance by the Saint Philip School Chorus from Greenville.

Concerts will be held weekdays through Friday, Dec. 18, with two or three performances on most days.

The arts council organizes the series. Executive Director Randall Rosenbaum says close to 3,000 students from 53 schools are expected to perform during the month.

The concerts are free and open to the public.
