MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) - An inmate has died at Skagit County jail. The sheriff’s office has asked the Mount Vernon police to investigate the death but they say the 52-year-old Everett man had a history of heart disease and died of natural causes.

Mount Vernon Police Lt. Chris Cammock told The Skagit Valley Herald (https://is.gd/zdC6po ) there’s nothing to indicate the man died of anything other than natural causes.

The man had been held in the Skagit County jail since Aug. 6.
