MILLSBORO, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say three people were injured when an SUV and a car collided head-on in Millsboro.

It happened about 6:25 p.m. Thursday on John J. Williams Highway. Troopers say 45-year-old Joseph Peart Jr. of Millsboro was driving a Dodge Durango west when it began swerving into the eastbound lanes.

Police say the Durango hit a Volkswagen Beetle, driven by 55-year-old Barbara Hahn of Rehoboth Beach, head-on. The impact forced the Durango to fall on its side.

Troopers say Peart and a passenger were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Hahn was admitted to a hospital with undetermined injuries.

Police charged Peart with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and any drug, vehicular assault and numerous other offenses.
