SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Many Vermont stores are ready for what managers are hoping will be a busy black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.

And many of those stores opened on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, and some plan to be open through Friday night.

Black Friday is traditionally one of the biggest days of the year for retail sales.

Brian Nadworniak, the manager of the South Burlington J.C. Penney store, says they’ve found that the earlier they open the customer traffic has been there. His store opened at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile in Williston, Best Buy general manager Brian Shedd tells WCAX-TV (https://bit.ly/1PQIqKD ) his employees start practicing a month in advance so everyone is ready for black Friday.
