WEATHERFORD, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was killed when struck by a vehicle on an Interstate 40 on-ramp in western Oklahoma.

The OHP says Weatherford police received a call shortly before 1 a.m. Friday that the person was lying on the 80A onramp. The person’s name and gender were not immediately released.

The OHP says a witness told police that the driver of the vehicle involved continued westbound on I-40. The OHP says Clinton police and the Custer County Sheriff’s Department are helping search for the vehicle and the driver.
