GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) - State police are trying to find an archer who killed a blacktail deer out of season near Grants Pass.

Sgt. Kyle Hove says a Fish & Wildlife Division trooper investigated a report of a buck found dead Tuesday. The trooper found the animal in a yard and determined it had been killed by archery equipment.

Investigators say the buck was probably killed Monday. Those with information about the case are asked to call Oregon’s number for turning in poachers at 800-452-7888.
