KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a speech pathologist who works with children has been indicted on a TennCare Fraud charge in East Tennessee.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Charla Jean Lewis Douglas, an employee of Curlee Communication Consultants of Knoxville, falsified 45 speech therapy TennCare service claims on dates for which school attendance records showed the intended service recipients were absent from school.

The TBI says in a news release that the 42-year-old Douglas, of Russellville, was indicted Nov. 10 one count of TennCare Fraud. She was arrested Wednesday at her home and was to be booked on $10,000 bond at the Knox County Jail.
