SHELBURNE, Mass. (AP) - A 17-year-old girl whose pickup truck went off the road in Shelburne and landed on its side in a shallow brook is expected to survive.

State police say the girl was taken by ambulance to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield after the crash at about 5 p.m. Thursday with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The girl’s name was not made public but police say she is from Colrain.

Authorities say after her truck went off the road, it rolled 15 to 20 feet down an embankment and into the brook with two or three feet of water.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to get the girl out of the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
