MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (AP) - An East Tennessee sheriff says two people have been charged with murder and robbery in a nearly 13-year-old cold case.

Media cited a release from Hamblen County Sheriff Esco Jarnagin that said 53-year-old Johnny R. Kirk and 43-year-old Carmen M. Kirk, both of Morristown, are charged with first-degree murder, felony murder and robbery in the death of Mickey Michelle Moore.

Moore was found dead in the driveway of her Morristown home in March 2003. She died of blunt force trauma.

According to the sheriff’s statement, the suspects were arrested after authorities received new information in the case.

The Kirks are each being held on $250,000 bond and are scheduled for arraignment on Friday. It wasn’t immediately clear whether they had an attorney.
