FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - Pinal County authorities say a bar fight in the San Tan Valley area has left a woman hospitalized with a serious head injury and two men facing felony charges.

County sheriff’s officials say deputies were called to the Gym Grill and Bar on reports of a fight in progress around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies arrived to find a 56-year-old woman unconscious in the parking lot after hitting her head on the pavement.

Authorities say she remained hospitalized Tuesday in critical condition.

Witnesses say 35-year-old Christopher Russell allegedly punched the woman and 24-year-old Mark Melanson reportedly caused a disturbance inside the bar at closing time and got into a fight outside with the manager.

Russell and Melanson are facing charges of assault and disorderly conduct. It’s unclear if they have lawyers.
