DETROIT (AP) - A 21-year-old man has been charged with assault with intent to murder in the shooting of a Detroit police officer during a raid on a suspected drug house.

The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Deyshawn Hollis-James also faces gun and drug charges.

Hollis-James, 24-year-old Deonte Hollis and 30-year-old Christopher Carson were arraigned Tuesday in the case.

Hollis faces drug and gun charges. Carson is charged with felonious assault and felon in possession of a firearm.

Probable cause hearings will be held Nov. 10. Preliminary examinations are scheduled Nov. 17. All three were ordered held on bond.

Shrapnel struck the officer’s leg after a shot was fired Saturday through a metal door at a house on the city’s west side. The wound was not life-threatening.
