LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 62-year-old man has died after the fishing boat he was in capsized when he and another man tried to anchor in a lake in southern Michigan.

The accident took place Monday afternoon at Skiff Lake. The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports (https://bit.ly/1GJoOVF ) Craig Steven Ritson suffered cardiac arrest and had CPR performed at the scene in Liberty Township, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The sheriff’s department says an 83-year-old man had hypothermia and was in stable condition at a hospital.

The Liberty Township Fire Department responded after a neighbor heard yelling coming from the lake. The men were found near the 12-foot boat. The newspaper says Ritson and the 82-year-old were believed to have been in the water for 10 minutes before 911 was called.
