PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (AP) - Philadelphia police officers will soon utilize body cameras as a tool to provide “indisputable evidence” if an incident occurs during a 911 response or at a traffic stop.

Police Chief Grant Myers tells The Neshoba Democrat (https://bit.ly/1MvEfNn) the cameras are a tool that more and more law enforcement agencies are going to for officers.

Myers told the Mayor and Board of Aldermen that his department will purchase 10 body cameras at no cost to the city.

Aldermen voted unanimously to authorize the purchase.

After looking at six different cameras, Myers said they decided to purchase those made by WatchGuard.

He told aldermen they had “hands-on” time to test the cameras before making a final decision.
