HEBER-OVERGAARD, Ariz. (AP) - Navajo County authorities are trying to identify human remains found inside a home that burned down in the northeastern Arizona town of Heber-Overgaard.

County sheriff’s deputies say the home was found to be fully engulfed in flames late Sunday night.

Witnesses told authorities that a man who lived in the house and they had not seen him come out.

The Heber-Overgaard Fire Department says human remains were later found in burnt structure.

The scene was secured until county criminal investigators could start an investigation into how the fire started.

Authorities say the human remains were transferred over to the county medical examiner to be positively identified.
