NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Police are looking for a man who they say fired a gun at a woman’s motel room door when she turned him down for sex.

Delaware State Police Master Corporal Jeffrey Hale says a 24-year-old woman was approached by the suspect early Monday morning in the Dutch Inn Motel parking lot near New Castle. Police say the suspect solicited the victim for sex. She refused his advances and returned to her motel room.

The man knocked on the door and, when she refused to answer, fired three rounds from a handgun into the door before fleeing in a vehicle.

Police describe the suspect as a 30-year-old black male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 lbs., last seen wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Delaware State Police at 302-365-8510.
