SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Prosecutors have charged an Orange County man with illegally reimbursing donors to a candidate’s campaign for a seat on the county’s board of supervisors.

The Orange County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday that 38-year-old Son Truong Nguyen has been charged with 10 misdemeanor counts of unlawful contribution.

Authorities say the Fountain Valley man illegally reimbursed donors for a total of $13,300 that went to Janet Nguyen’s 2012 campaign for a seat on the county’s board of supervisors.

He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 24. The district attorney’s office did not know if Son Nguyen had a lawyer.

Janet Nguyen won re-election to the county board in 2012. She was elected to the state Senate in 2014.
