NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - A southwest Florida man has been sentenced to 53 years in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

A Collier County judge sentenced 36-year-old Evoull Bachat on Tuesday after he pleaded no contest to two counts of second-degree murder.

Authorities say Bachat fatally shot 21-year-old Guilene Toussaint and 30-year-old Elkim Angervil at an Immokalee home in 2013. Family members say Bachat had threatened Toussaint and Angervil before the shooting.

The Naples Daily News (https://goo.gl/0tOqru ) reports that Bachat avoided capture for six day until an anonymous tip led deputies to a Farmworker Village home.
