PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the vandalism of a holiday display featuring 280 illuminated seasonal scenes along a 1.3-mile path in Pine Bluff.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1NOSsbN ) reports organizers of the Enchanted Land of Lights event at Pine Bluff’s Regional Park say more than $3,000 in damage was done to the display. Greg Gustek, executive director of the Pine Bluff Festival Association, says wires inside 35 displays were cut and removed, and 10 extension cords worth about $100 each were taken.

A spokesman for the Pine Bluff Police Department said no suspects have been identified in the theft, but officers are conducting extra patrols in the area to prevent further vandalism.

Gustek says workers are busy trying to make repairs so the display can open on schedule on Nov. 17.
