YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say they are still looking for the motorist whose car dragged a 14-year-old girl two miles while she was trick-or-treating on Halloween.

The Ann Arbor News reports (https://bit.ly/1l6COz8) the vehicle that dragged her Saturday into Washtenaw County’s Ypsilanti Township was a Volkswagen. Police say it likely was a Beetle, Golf or Jetta with Michigan plates.

Police say the ninth-grader, whose identity hasn’t been released, was listed Tuesday in critical but stable condition. She’s expected to survive.

The car was the second to hit the girl. The driver of the first vehicle stopped and called 911, telling a dispatcher he hit her but couldn’t find her.

Another driver noticed something lodged under the second car and followed. He and a sheriff’s deputy provided aid to the girl until paramedics came.
