CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Officials say several employees were injured in a riot at a northeast Ohio juvenile detention facility that left 13 teens facing additional charges.

Two of the injured employees were treated at a hospital following the melee late Monday at the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center near Canton.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says it started when a fight broke out between detainees after about 50 teens were moved to an outdoor holding area during a fire alarm.

The sheriff’s office says 13 teens were charged with felony aggravated riot. One also was charged with felonious assault. Officials say there was never any threat of escape.
