PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities are warning drivers that a storm system crossing Arizona could produce hazardous driving conditions in some areas.

The state Department of Transportation says motorists should be ready for low visibility due to blowing dust and that drivers may encounter snow in the high country.

A hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service for much of northern Arizona warns of rain changing to snow in the high country Tuesday night, and the weather service says rain and snow showers will continue Wednesday and into Thursday.

The weather service reported wind gusts of 40-50 mph along Interstate 40 in eastern Arizona.
