DUNMORE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania State Police trooper who was critically injured by a sniper during an ambush at a police barracks last year completed the New York City Marathon over the weekend.

Trooper Alex Douglass, of Dunmore, placed 47th in the handcycle category of Sunday’s 26-mile race. He used a three-wheeled cycle that’s powered by hand, and completed the race with a time of about 2 hours and 33 minutes.

Douglass had a full hip replacement and has difficulties walking since the shooting. Eric Frein (FREEN), who was captured in an abandoned airport hangar after a seven-week manhunt in the Poconos, is in Pike County Prison awaiting trial in connection with the shooting.

Corporal Bryon Dickson was killed in the Sept. 12, 2014 attack.
