DOZEN MEN CHARGED IN THEFT OF UNDERGROUND COPPER CABLE WORTH $500,000

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Miami-Dade prosecutors said Tuesday that the thefts connected to the ring were reported in the Miami area, Broward County and Volusia County.

The majority owner of Dade Medical College has turned himself in to authorities on charges that he illegally bundled more than $159,000 in contributions to politicians. Ernesto Perez last week announced the closure of six campuses of the for-profit college due to mounting debt.
