LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) - The Court of Arbitration for Sport has rejected an appeal by Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal to play in the Asian Champions League final.

CAS says Al Hilal’s claim that semifinal opponent Al Ahli fielded an ineligible player was dismissed at an emergency hearing on Wednesday.

The ruling means Al Ahli hosts Guangzhou Evergrande in Dubai in Saturday’s first leg of the final. The winner qualifies for the Club World Cup in Japan next month.

Al Hilal claimed forward Ossama Al-Saidi was not properly registered to appear as a second-half substitute in Al Ahli’s 3-2 win in the second leg of the semifinals on Oct. 20. Al Ahli won 4-3 on aggregate.

The court says it will publish reasons for the decision at a later date.
