CHICAGO (AP) - A suburban Chicago woman who was an aspiring model was the victim of a drive-by shooting as she was heading home after visiting her grandparents on the city’s South Side.

Kaylyn Pryor of Evanston was shot in the right armpit Monday as she walked to a bus stop. She died at Advocate Christ Medical Center. A 15-year-old boy was wounded in the leg during the shooting and was hospitalized in good condition.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said someone inside an SUV opened fire on a group, adding Pryor was not the intended target. It wasn’t known if the boy was the intended target.

Jo Ann Scott says her 20-year-old granddaughter recently won a modeling competition sponsored by a hair salon. She added Pryor recently posed for an anti-violence campaign.
